Overview
Emile Mayrisch Hospital is recruiting a Surgical Operating Room Nurse for its operating room department.
The position is offered as a permanent full-time contract at 100%, for 38 hours per week.
The operating room comprises 14 rooms and covers all surgical specialties, with the exception of cardiac surgery and neurosurgery.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the physical and psychological care of the patient undergoing surgery
- Definitively position the patient for the surgical procedure
- Prepare the surgical field, instrument tables, and surgical sites
- Contribute to the procedure as an instrument nurse, surgical assistant, or circulating nurse
- Participate in the management of risks related to invasive activities and the operating environment
- Manage, prepare, maintain, and verify the necessary equipment, materials, and instruments
- Perform procedures in robotic surgery
- Participate in the documentation and traceability of activities
- Maintain and monitor the storage and management of medical devices and equipment in the operating room
- Inform patients about the procedure and its aftermath
- Ensure handovers to guarantee the continuity of care
- Remove soiled materials
- Respect and apply the hygiene and asepsis plan
- Supervise and train interns and new employees
