Overview
Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Radiotherapy in Lucan, Co. Dublin.
The Radiotherapy CNS supports the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred specialist radiotherapy nursing services.
About the role
The Hermitage Clinic provides advanced radiotherapy services, including stereotactic, external-beam and image-guided radiotherapy.
The CNS coordinates, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates radiotherapy nursing care across inpatient, day-case and outpatient pathways.
The role manages a defined caseload and initiates changes in management to improve symptom control, treatment tolerance and psychological wellbeing.
The post holder provides nurse-led reviews, specialist consultation, patient and family education, patient advocacy and multidisciplinary pathway coordination.
Essential criteria
- Registration in the General Division of the NMBI Register of Nurses
- At least five years of recent relevant post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
- At least two years of nursing experience in the specialist area
- Level 8 QQI National Framework of Qualifications major academic award relevant to radiotherapy or oncology nursing, or willingness to complete this within one year of appointment
- Strong clinical, IT, quality-focus, risk-management, audit, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to deliver safe, evidence-based and patient-centred specialist nursing care
